PDF Crusher
A web tool that shrinks large PDFs so they pass website upload limits.
Some application portals reject files over 500 KB. This makes a scanned document fit without manual editing.

Computer engineer who builds practical tools and fixes technical problems, now studying cybersecurity.
I have worked in IT support and teaching, and I build small web applications and automation tools. I'm completing an MSc in Cybersecurity Engineering, with a particular interest in network security monitoring and digital forensics.
I studied Computer Engineering at King Saud University and graduated in December 2024. Since then I've worked in two places where technology meets everyday people: a Ministry of Education IT support internship, and my current job teaching computer studies to children in Grades 1 to 5.
Outside work I build tools that solve a concrete annoyance: a PDF compressor for upload limits, and a Discord soundboard bot with a live dashboard. I enjoy debugging, and I'm using my master's degree to go deeper into how networks are defended and how incidents are investigated.
Two public projects, both built end to end. Open a card for a plain-English explanation and the technical detail.

The person running the bot can see who is in a channel and what is queued, without typing commands.

Network security monitoring and digital forensics. These are the areas I'm steering my MSc studies and side projects toward.

Some websites only accept documents under a certain size, often 500 KB, while a scanned PDF can be tens of megabytes. PDF Crusher takes the large file and produces a much smaller one you can upload. You choose a file, wait for it to process, and download the result.
The tool turns each page into an image, simplifies it (black and white, with near-white background flattened to one colour) and rebuilds a PDF. If the result is still too big, it repeats with lower image quality until it fits. The trade-off is image quality: it is built for documents that need to be accepted and readable, not for photos.
I built the whole thing: the Python compression script, the Flask web app around it (upload, processing, status reporting, download), the web interface, and Windows setup and launch scripts. In one test I compressed a 37.24 MB PDF to 462 KB.
Discord is a chat app where friends and communities talk in voice channels. This project is a bot that sits in a voice channel and plays short sound clips on request. A web page shows who is in the channel and what is waiting to play, so it can be managed without typing chat commands.
The bot is split into modules: one watches voice channels, one plays sounds. A small server exposes the bot's state through API endpoints. The dashboard receives live updates through Server-Sent Events, a simple browser feature where the server pushes changes, so the page updates without refreshing. Access to the dashboard is protected by access controls.
I built the modular bot, the backend API endpoints, the real-time dashboard updates and the access controls, as well as the dashboard itself for status and queue management.
There is no public live demo; the bot runs on my own computer.
